Just a few quick doc updates. Some are addtions and others warnings.
please at least read this file.
AmiconBBS can take command lines when started up. Here follows a list of
them.
If you now start the BBS up with -ATA, then the BBS controls the picking
up of the modem. BUT remember to take the command ATS0=1 out of your
modem setup string. The BBS will use ATA to pick up the line.
There are advantages and disadvantages of this. If you leave the BBS to
handle the picking up of the phone, Then the BBS will not pick up the phone
untill the main wait screen has finished displaying. On the other hand using
the auto answer will pick up the phone immeaditly someone logs of.
The main advantage is, if for some reason the BBS crashes the modem,
obviously will not be on Auto answer and will not continue to pick up the
phone when users ring.
starting up with -M causes the modem to go into local mode. I.E it will not
attempt to set the Serial port up. Although this can be changed at anytime by
turning the serial device from the menu options.
Starting with -L followed by a number causes the BBS to use a certain line
when started up. This is for future use but can be used now if you wish.
Eventually this will be for setting up a multiline BBS
Starting with a -WB will make AMICONBBS use the workbench window. This has
not Been fully tested., but i now it works and should not cause any problems.
The colours will default to the workbench colours for the time being.
All, any or none of the options may be used. So to start the BBS up on line
4, making the BBS handle the picking up of the phone and running the BBS on
the workbench. the following line would be used;
Amicon1.3 -ATA -WB -L4

External bulletin Editor added. Place in external. RENAME your system editor.
It must now be named SYSTEM.editor and still lies in your EXTERNAL: assigned
device
You must make sure you mount the CNC: device or nothing will work.
Failure to mount it, is not fatel unless your not around. The BBS will
throw up a requestor telling you that CNC is not mounted. Mount it and click
on retry.
